My Trip to Chongqing in 2019
I took the train to Chongqing. It was a direct train to Shapingba. At the exit JT had already been there waiting for me. We took a taxi to the hotel.
Chongqing is always hilly. While climbing uphill, I felt like I was going up from Chai Wan to Eastern Hospital. The driver could not go to the district so we changed a driver in the middle. JT paid for the ride using his smartphone.
I got the room key from the reception and asked for a laptop. To my surprise I only had to use my VISA card to make a deposit to borrow the computer. My room was a room for executives. It was huge. Thank you, JT.
JT brought me to the square at University of Chongqing. We found a modern Chinese restaurant and sat down for dinner. My first meal in Chongqing was not too spicy and it was delicious. JT paid for it using his smartphone again. Thank you, JT.
I went nowhere for sightseeing after dinner because I had to finish the design of the conclusion of my poster using PowerPoint from the laptop. This time I did the job quite smoothly and quickly.
The next morning JT brought me to Ciqikou for sightseeing. It was a long alley with traditional Chinese cottages built on two sides. It was overcrowded and shops were everywhere inside the cottages. At the end of the alley was Jialing River. We had lunch there. This time I offered pizza to JT. We were very satisfied.
After lunch we went the opposite direction and past the entrance. We hiked up a knoll and a few stairs to a teahouse with a small stage, as I remember. The actors were having lunch and we had to wait. I chatted with JT a while and we opted for departure.
JT could not accompany me afterwards so I took the subway to Hongya Cave by myself. Hongya Cave’s history is ancient. It was a fortress built by the Ba people on a cliff on the bank of a river. The sightseeing point was a waterfall with a cave(dong) behind it. Once again there were many shops and I bought two pairs of slippers for my sisters, some fans for my relatives and two pieces of fragrant wood for myself.
After visiting Hongya Cave quickly I took the subway to the City Centre. I walked round the City Centre and found a book city. I purchased a book on Telecommunications and went back to the hotel.
The next day I took a taxi to the airport and flew back to Hong Kong.
